I recorded this last december when it was cold." --Ben Lee New Buffalo is a musical project by Sally Russell. The songs of New Buffalo are those heard along sleepy shores and moonlit highways. Sad melodies weave through one another, creating a dreamlike pattern of hypnotic harmonies. Sally Russell was a founding member (with Lara Meyerratken of Ben Lee band fame) of Sydney pop band Lustre 4. Shimmering guitars and songs of young love was the Lustre 4 trademark. A move to Melbourne and several songs later, Sally has re-invented her musical style. Guitars were replaced by the sweet sounds of the keyboard, over smooth paced bass and soothing beats. Only a few shows old, but months in writing, New Buffalo is proud to present this "16 Beats", their debut offering and a sample of what is to come. New Buffalo will be recording in early 2000 with the admirable Casey Rice (Tortoise, Liz Phair).
